Stewart led by 5,971 to Moroney's 4,747 votes late Tuesday.
Town Board Republican Paul Valentine, who had 5,279 votes, and Democrat Gerry Bottari, with 5,327, will serve four year terms. Republican Thomas Morr garnered 5,021 votes, and Democrat Chris Smith got 4,815.
Orangetown Town Clerk Charlotte E. Madigan, Town Justice Patrick J. Loftus, and Superintendent of Highways James J. Dean have been re-elected.
The heated supervisor's race pitted a charismatic incumbent who claims to have turned around the town’s financial hardship following the recession by holding down taxes and stimulating economic growth against a law enforcement retiree who has dedicated his life to public service.
Stewart, 50, takes credit for several budgets that came in under the tax cap, as well as new development and quality-of-life projects from bike trails to wastewater systems. Moroney, fighting hard to unseat Stewart, says credit belongs to the board’s four-member Republican majority.
"I will work with the Town Board and our residents to modernize Orangetown's 60-year-old zoning laws," said Moroney. "I will to create a local economic development zone along Route 303 and work with county and state officials to bring businesses to offset the tax burden on homeowners."

PIERMONT
Mayor Christopher D. Sanders will serve another two-year term.
Village Trustees Mark W. Blomquist (D) and John A. Gallucci, Jr. (D) will serve two-year terms.
NYACK
Jennifer Laird White (D) will remain Mayor for two more years. Incumbents Marie T. Lorenzini (D) and Douglas Reid Foster (D) retained their seats for another two years, defeating newcomer Joe Carlin. Foster got 772 votes, Lorenzini garnered 733, and Carlin, took 390.
Robert S. Knoebel Jr. (D) will serve as village justice for a four-year term.
